Design: Bike bag (XL tote)

Bike Bag is an extra-large tote bag with lining and a drawstring at the top, and is perfect when you want one bag that holds everything.

It is ideal for shopping trips, the beach, traveling, or busy days with a lot to carry. The bag got its name because it was originally designed to fit perfectly in the bike basket used on many electric bikes. The lining makes the bag look decorative in the basket, while also preventing things from falling out through the gaps. In addition, the opening at the top can be drawn together, so you can protect what is inside during transport. 

This is a beginner-friendly and quick project you can finish in one evening. The bag is sewn inside out with the lining, a construction that gives a clean look on both the outside and the inside.

This is what you need:
– Outer fabric (80 cm)
– Lining fabric (80 cm)
– Handle strap (1.5 m)
– Drawstring cord (~4 m)


Fabric: You need approximately 80 cm of each of the fabrics you will use (outer fabric and lining fabric). If you use fabric that allows the pattern pieces to be cut on the crossgrain, 55 cm is enough.
